5 Minute Grain Spawn:
A short course in making your own grain spawn from liquid culture (Level 2).

The follow on from ‘The 5-Minute Mushroom Kit’ this workshop will expand your mushroom cultivation skillset by dipping your toes into sterile techniques and learning how to make our own grain spawn (in only 5 minutes!).

This course is still very much suited for the beginner and will not require any expensive equipment purchases. You already know how to make fruiting kits from spawn (inoculant) so now it’s time to reduce your per kit cost and dive a little deeper into cultivation by learning how to make your own grain spawn.

Much like the 5-minute kit, 5-minute grain spawn is designed for minimal time inputs, no special equipment and super easy to follow techniques.

Here is a quick rundown of what you will learn:

Some new lingo - Another 5 words you need to know!

How to make a still air box for doing sterile work.

How to take a spore print and make a multi spore syringe.

Grain spawn inoculation using liquid culture or multi spore solution.

Grain to grain transfers for second generation spawn.
How to look after and store your spawn.

After the presentation, you will inoculate and take home 5 x 125g bags of grain spawn which can then be turned into as many as 15 x mushroom fruiting kits!

Of course, this is not just the live event, you will also have unlimited access to a recording of the course, as well as access to the ‘5-Minute Grain Spawn’ group which can be accessed via our website... to ask any questions as they arise, show off your grain spawn grows and be part of a wonderful growing community!

Workshop Duration: 2 hours.
Workshop Cost: $130 (includes 1 x take home liquid culture syringe - Value $20 and 5 x 125g bags of grain spawn - Value $30).

-----------------------------------------

*** BEST VALUE DEAL ***

Book in for both workshops for only $180 (That's $40 off the individual workshop pricing).

-----------------------------------------

Select your preferred workshop session upon booking.

* Please note that your ticket will state the times for the entirety of both workshops at the top, with your selected workshop and times below.

BYO adequate water, trails snacks and weather appropriate clothing.
Hiking pole/s would be useful, but not necessary.

Hike is weather dependent, but light rain will NOT stop the hike.

On Country. Kids. Connect

On Country. Kids. Connect is all about celebrating, learning and experiencing first hand our Indigenous culture on the banks of Kenton Creek, a tributary of Karrawirra Pari (River Torrens).  Four concurrent sessions will be held across the day, with the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony beginning at 9.30am and Session 4 concluding at 1.45pm.

Each presenter will provide an opportunity for kids (of all ages) to immerse themselves in the experience of ancient and cultural ceremonies including making music with clapsticks and singing ancient story lines; participating in bush therapy and Ngardi Guwanda (deep listening), listening with more than our ears to connect to Country; learning through art about storylines and painting on boomerangs; and a chance to choose and prepare your own Bushtucker (and other) seedlings to take home and plant in your garden (20 plants).

First Nations Elders, Aunty Angelina Harradine-Buckskin from Claptsticks for Creation, Bianca Stawiarski from Warida Wholistic Wellness and Corey Turner from Southern Cultural Immersion will join together for this unique event in Gumeracha for one day during Nature Festival.  Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a day learning about our Indigenous history and culture.

No Hoof, No Horse - Learn to Trim

Join the qualified trimmers and trainers of Wild About Hooves & HorseFX for a big weekend learning about natural hoof care.
The weekend workshop aims to give participants a strong understanding of hoof trimming and the skills to maintain their own horses hooves, to recognise & treat common hoof pathologies, to identify healthy hooves vs unhealthy hooves, and the keys to success with happy, healthy, sound horses.
There are loads of practical sessions including trim demonstrations on a wide variety of hooves, an introduction to the wide variety of hoof boots available & boot fitting, cadaver leg dissections to understand the limb & hoof anatomy & cadaver trim tuition for students.
Please note – this is a two day workshop – either day can be attended but day one is a prerequisite for attending the advanced trimming on day two.
A stellar learning opportunity. Come and join us for a fun, jampacked, educational and hands-on weekend. Take home pack includes learn to trim DVD, reference booklets, booting information & hoof pick.
Cost for two day workshop $400
